Pacta has four tiers. The short version:

• Free — for trying things out (5 docs/mo, no card needed)
• Pro — $35/mo or $350/yr — for small teams ready to brand and scale
• Business — $199/mo or $1990/yr — for regulated industries
• Enterprise — custom pricing — for everything above that

What’s in each tier

Free — $0

• 5 documents per month (resets on signup anniversary)
• 1 team member (just you)
• Shared signing page (carries the Pacta logo)
• Basic e-signatures — same legal validity as Pro
• No API access, no webhooks, no AI
• Pacta-branded sender emails (noreply@sign.pacta.ink)

The Free tier exists so you can prove Pacta works before you commit budget. It’s not crippled — the signature itself is cryptographically identical to what Business customers get. You just can’t dress it up or scale it past 5 docs/month.

Pro — $35/month or $350/year

Adds on top of Free:

• 100 documents per month
• Up to 5 team members
• Own branding (logo, accent color, signing page theme)
• Custom email sender domain (contracts@yourcompany.com)
• Hide “Powered by Pacta” footer
• AI-assisted contract drafting (Q3/Q4 2026 — see AI features)
• Smart field detection on uploaded PDFs
• Webhook events for integrations
• Auto signing reminders to non-responsive recipients

Pro is the right tier for small teams sending 20-100 contracts a month. Annual billing knocks off ~17%.

Business — $199/month or $1990/year

Adds on top of Pro:

• Unlimited documents
• 10 team members included ($20/seat over)
• CFR21 Part 11 compliance flags (FDA-regulated workflows)
• HIPAA compliance posture (healthcare)
• Embedded signing — drop Pacta into your own app via iframe or React SDK
• Full AI features (drafting, clause Q&A, smart templates)
• Priority support with SLA

Business is for mid-market teams in regulated industries — fintech, healthcare, anything that needs auditor sign-off.

Enterprise — Custom

Adds on top of Business:

• Custom contract (master service agreement, custom DPA)
• SSO/SAML integration with your identity provider
• Authentication Portal (your own login domain)
• Embedded signing with white-label (your customers never see Pacta)
• Dedicated support + named technical account manager
• SLA with response-time commitments
• Custom volume pricing beyond unlimited

How to upgrade

From inside your org → Settings → Billing → click the plan you want. Pacta opens a Stripe Checkout window. Enter card details. Done.

The upgrade is immediate:

• Your usage caps lift right away (Pro: 100 docs unlocked; Business: unlimited)
• New feature flags activate (custom branding, AI, embedded signing)
• Your first invoice is prorated to today’s date

If you started on a Pro trial (14 days, automatically on every new org), the trial counter just disappears — you’re on full Pro.

Managing billing after you upgrade

Settings → Billing → Manage billing opens the Stripe Customer Portal. From there you can:

• Update card details
• View + download invoice history
• Switch between monthly and annual billing
• Cancel the subscription (you stay on Pro until the period ends, then drop to Free)
• Apply a promo code (if you have one)

Cancellations are no-questions-asked. Your account doesn’t get deleted — you just go back to Free tier with your existing docs preserved.

Honest comparisons

We get asked “how does this stack up to DocuSign / PandaDoc” a lot. Quick answers:

vs DocuSign

• DocuSign Standard: $25/user/month → $75/mo for 3 users
• Pacta Pro: $35/month total for up to 5 users

For most small teams Pacta is meaningfully cheaper, and you get branding out of the box (DocuSign Standard makes you pay more to brand). DocuSign wins if you need integrations into a hundred enterprise tools — they’ve been around forever.

vs PandaDoc

• PandaDoc Business: $49/user/month → $245/mo for 5 users
• Pacta Business: $199/mo for 10 users included, unlimited docs

We beat them on per-user pricing significantly. PandaDoc has stronger proposal-builder features (CPQ, deal tracking) which we don’t focus on — we’re a signing platform, not a sales-doc CMS.

vs Documenso (the open-source we forked from)

• Documenso Hosted: ~$30/mo for 5 users + 1000 docs
• Pacta Pro: $35/mo for 5 users + 100 docs + AI + custom email domain

Slightly more per month but adds compliance posture (eIDAS classification, AI drafting in Q3/Q4, native iOS app in Q4 2026) and fintech-specific positioning. If you’re a self-hoster, Documenso is great. If you want hosted convenience + the SaaS feature set, Pacta.

vs Adobe Acrobat Sign

Adobe is roughly $24.99/user/month and tightly coupled with the Adobe suite. Best fit if your team already lives in Acrobat. If you don’t, Pacta is generally more competitive.

Common questions

Q: Do I lose access if I downgrade?

Your existing documents remain accessible at every tier. What changes is what you can do going forward (new doc creation, feature flags). Downgrading to Free caps you at 5 new docs/month and removes branding — nothing existing gets deleted.

Q: What’s a “document” exactly?

One envelope sent for signature. Multiple signers on the same envelope = one document. Templates don’t count against the cap until you actually send a copy.

Q: Can I pay annually but with monthly invoices?

Not currently. Annual is one upfront charge; monthly is monthly. If you need a different structure (purchase orders, NET-30 invoicing), that’s Enterprise.

Q: What happens if I exceed my doc cap on Pro?

You can’t send the next document until either (a) your usage resets at the start of your next billing month or (b) you upgrade to Business. Existing documents already in flight continue normally.
